In order to allow time for preparation and necessary paperwork to be completed, it is essential that you give the parish a minimum of three months notice of your intention to get married.
In order to book your wedding, it is necessary to complete a booking form, which can be obtained from and should be returned to the Parish Office. If your details change after your initial booking, please inform us, in case we need to contact you. If you no longer live at home, please give us your usual address and telephone number. You should also complete a form if you are getting married in another parish or Church, especially if you need a priest from the parish you are resident in to be present. In order to avoid any disappointment, please do not book any hotel reception until you have confirmed your preferred date with the parish.
Please note that it is also necessary to give a minimum of three months to the civil authorities. Further information may also be found at www.groireland.ie.
The death of a relative or a friend is always a difficult time. It is a time when we need the support of our loved ones and our neighbours as we mourn the loss of someone who is dear to us. It is also a time when we may experience grief and anguish and some sense of being forsaken.
There are various elements in the funeral of a member of the Church. The first is the vigil and this is often the first time family, friends and members of the parish community gather in remembrance of the deceased, for prayer and support. The vigil may be celebrated in the home of the deceased, in the funeral home, or in the church.
The Funeral Undertakers are also very helpful. They can facilitate the family by recommending someone for the music and singing is if it is desired.
The Funeral Mass may be celebrated at any hour of the day. The parish will make every effort to accommodate the needs of the bereaved.
If a family wishes to have a Month’s Mind/Anniversary Mass celebrated they should contact one of the priests or the Parish Office.
If you would like to have your house blessed please contact one of the priests.
