Vacancy for position of Parish Sacristan

Applications are invited for the position of Sacristan in the Parish of St Colmcille, Knocklyon, Dublin 16.
The position will be a job sharing role split between two individuals.

 

Potential applicants should be enthusiastic, motivated and possess a strong work ethic. Ability to work effectively as part of a dynamic parish team will be essential as will a requirement to have excellent customer service skills and a capacity to work proactively using your own initiative.

 

The duties will involve the preparation of the church for all liturgical services, overseeing the church building in relation to lighting, heating, security, maintenance, general cleaning. In addition, the successful candidates will be expected to be available for baptisms, weddings, funerals and any other church functions including those related to the schools of the parish.

 

A detailed job specification will be provided.

 

It is anticipated that the Sacristans will, as aminimum, be required at the following times:

Monday to Friday – from 9 a.m. until 11.a.m. and from 6.30 p.m. until 7.45 p.m.
Saturday - from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. and from 6.30 p m. until 8.00 p.m.
Sunday - from 8.30 a.m. until 1.30 p.m.

 

These times are indicative only and the successful candidates will also be required for the many services outside the above times.

 

Remuneration for the role will be commensurate to the experience of the candidates but will be at a minimum rate of €13.50 per hour.
